3 out of 5 stars There is a DVD version ... but ...   May 12, 2005

Unfortunately, it's made by a company in the UK. You can see it listed on sendit.com. However, it's only made for Region 2 (Europe), so U.S. DVD players won't work. Very sad.

It would be great if Amazon would make all the episodes available in DVD quality. The display of mystic powers in some episodes was just wonderful (the scene in the Dragons Graveyard with Venger. M. White

D&D, Thundar the Barbarian... all bring back great memories. Feel the need to place a compaint here also. (sorry, but) I am so over DVD's only being relased in the UK (Region 2) first...and then possibly in the US... WHAT GIVES!!!!??????

5 out of 5 stars Where's the DVD of this series?   July 8, 2004

The 5 stars is for the series. When is someone going to put it on DVD? There are a lot of retro toon compilations coming out now and I'd like to see this classic done the same way.

This is the only video available for fans of the classic 80s cartoon and unfortunately is not really a proper showcase for the greatness of the series. I still bought it anyways so I could see the high quality animation, listen to the great music and spend time with the very likable characters. It's like time travel back to when I was a kid with my friends Matt and Clarence and remember how we would talk about all the adventures we saw that Saturday morning. Oh the good old days.. But the surprise here is that if you can get the other episodes in trade or find them on the P2P networks you will see that many in the series hold up very well and quite a few are classic! Yes this is a kids show but some of the themes and moments dealt with adult issues. Not bad, not bad at all. I wish that someone would start distributing these on DVD after remastering them. I'm sure money could be made and new fans could be brought into light. Then after all 3 seasons are released a new series could be created and maybe marketed to the direct to home dvd segment that way even more adult issues could be tackled and the core fan base of the 80s could be satisfied. I wouldn't mind spending the money at all on something like this at all. All and all Dungeons and Dragons the cartoon was one of the best of the 80s cartoons.
