Helen Keller-wonderful woman, terrible movie March 13, 2004 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This was not very good. I watched this for a class assignment, and even the teacher agreed it was terrible. I expect more out of a video doing a biography of Helen Keller. This was too biographical, and had terrible context. I would recommend instead the video HELEN KELLER IN HER STORY-one I watched years ago but still remember it well because of its excellence.
Not What I Wanted March 10, 2004 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was very disappointed in this movie. I nearly fell asleep. I expected this to be a great movie talking about all the accomplishments in Keller's life, but it obviously was different.
A Good Biography June 29, 2002 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is a good biography of the facts surrounding the life of the amazing Helen Keller. If you're looking for story, this is the wrong video for you. This is a biographical presentation from beginning to end, and quite nicely done.
A Classic June 12, 2001 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Helen Keller comes to life for all those viewing this wonderful video. Her disabilities become more poignant when you see her moving through her life's work. It was amazing how much film was taken of her during her lifetime. As Alexander Graham Bell said, she had a unique role to play in life. The video begins with her childhood and her early meeting of Anne Sullivan Macy. It covers her education and later career as a writer and social activist. She was a dedicated lady who made the best of a great tragedy in her life. A recommended video for any public or private library.
