The southern French city of Carcassonne is famous for its unique Roman and Medieval fortification. 5 out of 5 stars Great game, with a dizzying array of exansions!   June 30, 2008
This is a great game. Light strategy, some luck - can't say a word against it. Since we bought it my mother and I have literally been playing every night, and have bought several expansions to use with it.

This is a great game, especially if you're only used to the "standard" games - Monopoly and that ilk. You'll have to think very differently from how you're used to, but you'll get used to it fast.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Game   June 4, 2008
My boys (17, 19, 20) have loved Settlers of Catan for years and I had seen this and after reading about this game I bought this for my youngest son's 17th birthday. They play it every time they get together. It's faster to finish than Settlers.

5 out of 5 stars AWESOME fun for all ages!!!!!   May 15, 2008
My husband and two boys (aged 9 and 13) all love games but they don't interest me. Here is one that I actually enjoy so the whole family can game together. It also makes me happy as a parent because it is a wonderful teaching tool and great exercise for the mind!

5 out of 5 stars Great game - easy to learn   April 7, 2008
Carcassonne is one of the best games I have ever played. It meets the two biggest criteria for a strategy game for me:
1) It's easy to learn.
2) It's hard to master.
It has to be the uniquest approach I had ever come upon for a game, and I have now played it many times. It is one of those games, that it plays incredibly differently depending on the number of people who play and who you play with. All people have a different approach, and it drastically changes play.
Simply said, this game sells itself. Every person I have introduced to the game has gone on to purchase it themselves. The basic game is good, but all the expansions add a new element to the game that shouldn't be missed.

5 out of 5 stars Good family fun   April 6, 2008
I heard that this was a good game so I bought it. It is so much fun. It isn't real difficult to play. We had played ticket to ride and enjoyed that so we went on to this. My 14 year old son loves this, it keeps your interest up and alot of the game is luck so you don't have to stress out on strategizing. Then when you get good at this, go to Settlers of Catan, thats a more time consuming strategy game. This will take less time and get you ready for Settlers of Catan. We have family game night now. I used to have to struggle to get my 14 year old off the computer, but now he begs to play this and Settlers.
