5 out of 5 stars Happy with Pedometer   August 18, 2008
I received product in great time!! Very happy with how the pedometer works and its features...really like the memory keeping track of my last 7 days.

2 out of 5 stars No Battery Included   August 18, 2008
Well, I ordered this item as a throw in with the heart monitor. It's been over 30 days since I ordered it and finally remembered to bring it with me to work so I can count my steps. No where is there a battery in this thing even though the package clearly states there should be one. Called Omron and got a sorry we don't have those batteries to ship out so you can send it to us for repair along with $5 and you pay for shipping as well. Called Amazon and they at least credited me $4 (10% of my order amount)towards a battery. After 30 days there is no full refund or exchange. So, this may be a nice pedometer but the company who makes it sure doesn't have good service, so I recommend you open your package asap to make sure everything is included.

5 out of 5 stars A Walker's Best Friend   August 17, 2008
I can't say this is the best pedometer on the market because I haven't tried them all, but if it isn't, it would have to be in the top three. Once you set the length of your step and the time, the rest is automatic. The Omron HJ-112 is an extremely accurate pedometer. I like to take different routes in the neighborhood for variety, so it's nice to know how far I've gone. The time function means you don't have to wear a watch, and the memory function basically tells you how consistent you are in reaching daily personal goals. Other functions, such as calorie count and distance are posted, but not that important if you have a specific distance goal. I shoot for 10,000 steps a day, and I'm losing weight and toning up as a result. I actually look forward to daily walks. Just hook the Omron to your waistband, attach the safety clip to a pocket or belt loop, and go. It's a quality product, it is easy to read, and it works.

5 out of 5 stars The easiest to use, most accurate Pedometer i've had!   August 17, 2008
This Pedometer works great! I'm a server, so I just put it in my right side- apron pocket and that's it! I can easily look back up to 7 days and compare how many steps I took, far I walked & Calories burned. It can go in your purse, or you pocket- it doesn't HAVE to be on your foot. I've tried many pedometers, this oe is the best!

5 out of 5 stars Simple to use but read the instructions   August 17, 2008
I bought this pedometer after losing a much smaller, simpler one that a friend had given me as a gift. That one had just a small clip, and it was forever falling off. So one of the key features I was looking for was good sturdy clip AND a leash -- an extra clip on a string so the pedometer stays with you even if it falls off -- and I also wanted one that was more accurate in counting steps.

I have been VERY happy with the Omron HJ-112. I bought it based on Amazon reviews and the price (under $20!). It took me a bit to figure out how to use it, so do read the directions. It's not that hard, really, but the directions will help. I especially like that it keeps track of aerobic walking separately, as well as the seven-day history.

I haven't tried using it in a purse or a pocket, but attached to a waistband it has worked out very well for me.

Pedometers are very motivating when you want to boost your daily exercising, and walking is about as gentle and safe as it gets for people of all fitness levels and ages.

I just bought THREE more of this model to give as gifts (Amazon is running a special that ends soon.) Highly recommended.
