 Carefree Flag Pole August 28, 2008
My new pole and flag have been installed for 1 month. There have been 2 heavy storms and no tangles to date. I am very pleased.

I was a little suspicious of the low price for this item, but the actual product is very good quality. Clean aluminum pole with bright, solid chrome accents. Very nice. The swivel mechanism is very simple and works just as advertised.

pole is ok. flags still tangles but not as bad so over all it works just ok
Good, Basic Flagpole July 19, 2008
This is a good, basic flagpole, designed to fit into a standard 1" bracket. I'm using it with the "Valley Forge 60753 1" Flag Bracket", also sold by Flags Unlimited. Note this pole is white, so if you're using it as a companion to the company's "Spinning Flagpole 3x5 U.S. USA American Flag Kit", which has a silver pole, you'll have a slight mismatch.
One reviewer said he needed a zip tie to attach the bottom grommet for his flag. Errr, not exactly - the problem is, there are no instructions included (who needs instructions for a flagpole, right??), but the flag attachment isn't intuitively obvious. There are two plastic rings, each with a plastic screw that tightens the ring to the pole. You have to completely remove the screw, insert it through the grommet, and then screw it back into the ring. Like I said, it's not obvious, and the flag hangs a little funny that way. But only if you look reeeaaaallll close. Basically, it works fine once you figure out the trick. And it is indeed tangle-free, just as advertised.
I'm giving this 4-stars because the rings and screws are just plastic, and in time will break, in which case you *will* be needing those zip ties after all.
