Portable yet Stable August 16, 2008
The neoprene sole of the Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for Nüvi Series provides plenty of friction to keep your Garmin in place even on a curvy road or on a seriously slanted dashboard. In addition the friction mount is highly portable, so you can move your Garmin around in your car or hide the mount in the glove compartment when you car is parked on the street (that way nobody sees that there might be an expensive GPS device waiting to be stolen from your car). This mount is also ideal if you want to use your Garmin with more than one car (I take mine on my trips and use it in rental cars, for example).
Long story short: the Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount does the job it was designed to do very well and is the perfect companion for your Garmin GPS.

Like most very good ideas, it's amazingly simple. It works perfectly, vastly superior to the "stick it on the windshield" mount. They should sell this mounting device with the original purchase instead of supplying an inferior method of mounting, then having the consumer pay extra to get the one that really works.

I read the positive reviews and ordered it with my Nuvi. As this product works so well I have no intent to try the suction cup mount included in the package. This is a must have and I wish Garmin made this part of the package and the suction cup an accessory.

Works perfectly. GPS does not move or slide at all. Can be moved around inside the car easily. Leaves no marks on dash or windshild. Great for theft deterent.
