Good content, mediocre packaging December 19, 2007 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Braveheart is probably the best movie I've ever seen. It's a shame that Paramount doesn't make an effort to deliver a product worthy of the film. This new Collector's Edition is nothing less than mediocre. I have to admit that the content on Disc 2 is very good, the documentaries are amazing and it's the perfect complement for the movie. The movie's video quality has been definitely improved from the previous release, but as far as I can tell, the audio tracks are identical. It has the same commentary and audio quality than its predecessor.
The box on the other hand is so mediocre, I could cry. Paramount paid absolutely no attention to detail. There's no booklet, not even a lousy pamphlet in the inside and the discs look truly generic. It is definitely not worth being called a collector's edition. So, if you love Braveheart, this edition will certainly please you in terms o its content, which make the movie more enjoyable, but don't expect too much from the packaging....it sucks.
finally a remaster! December 17, 2007 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
Braveheart is 12 years old and the standard DVD is what 10,11 years old I didn't think Paramount would ever release a new Braveheart. No its not a director's cut and no its not on Blu-ray or HD-DVD but this new remasterd version has one great picture gone is the picture grain and the colors are way more vivid. So we are left with one of the best epic's of all time with one great picture and a second disc with some new extras including original cast interviews, making of braveheart,2 trailers,Tales of William Wallace,a photo montage and something called Alba gu Brath! I dont know what that last one is I havnt watched it.
The Best Movie Ever November 20, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is my favorite movie. It is action-packed, intense, passionate, and makes you feel just about every emotion possible. I wish I hadn't given it away just because it was rated-R....I want it back!
Best Epic Movie November 16, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
One of the best movies ever made. Freedom, courage, country, and passion best describe the guts of this movie.
Worth The Wait? October 28, 2007 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is a timeless movie which I love. I would rather have the Director's Cut than this Special Edition. Here's how it is. In a couple of years they'll probably released the Director's Cut (which I will definatly buy)and then, a couple more years later, they might release the Director's Cut with the extras of this Collector's Edition. If you want the new extras now, get it. But it might, just might be better to wait. I haven't decided weather I'm geting this or not.
