compact, works well, reasonably priced and looks great August 19, 2008
A portable hard drive that is compact, works well, is reasonably priced and looks great :-) I have had this for around 4 months now and am very happy with it.
 Great and small external HD August 18, 2008
This Western Digital external HD is very small in size and smooth in shape. Since nowadays all external HDs are pretty much plug-and-play (USB 2.0), this HD is the same (nothing to mention about ease of setup). It does not require external power, and that's convenient. I think the reading/writing speed is about average, and it does not have any overheating during file transferring.
One drawback is the shiny surface is made of some low-quality plastic, it's not that elegant. It can look dull and wavy at some angle.
I recommend this to friend who looks for a small portable HD in the 200-300GB range.

I gave this product 5 stars because it's fully useful for my intended purpose. I wanted extra storage and that is what I got. I don't use the software that comes with it because I don't need to backup anything, I can do it by myself.
