Solid Watch August 4, 2008 I do not swim at all so I only use this watch for running, but it's perfect for that. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you need. Hours, minutes and seconds displayed clearly, large "start" button and a light. Stylish and comfortable. Can't beat it for $35!
Makes interval training much easier for me. July 28, 2008 I needed a timer for my exercise routine, which is based on interval training. My husband lent me his ancient Ironman watch, which was waaay too big for my wrist. Perhaps I could have gotten used to that huge thing clunking around on my wrist, but each time I wanted the interval to restart, I had to stop what I was doing and push buttons to reset the timer. I got tired of that, or else watching the second hand of a clock on the wall. I needed a timer that would restart on its own. I went online and ended up on Amazon. I read the reviews and decided to order this watch. This newer version of the Ironman works for me! I have it set for one-minute intervals. When the minute is up, it chimes for ten seconds, while I switch to the next exercise. It repeats by itself, so I can keep exercising. I have only had it for one week, so I have not had time to play with all the functions. So far, I love this watch! It is comfortable on my wrist. It is a pretty shade of blue. I'm not a girly-girl, but why not have a pretty watch?
Great watch! July 22, 2008 I replaced my older Ironman Timex with this one. I love the new features of multiple alarms and intervals. I use every feature this watch offers on a regular basis. I find the various functions very easy to use compared to similar watches made by other companies. Not only do I use it for training, I use the crono and timer for cooking too! I love updated look of it as well. Great watch!
Timex triathalon watch July 21, 2008 My granddaughter, who is a collegiate runner, loves this watch. It's a great help with her prescribed summer workouts.
Nice watch. July 16, 2008 Got this about 4 months ago, and I love it! I had 3 friends on my team who have had Timex Ironman's for about 2-3 years each, so I definitely had to buy this when I saw it on sale.
It's easy to use, no real need to consult the manual at all. The chrono is great, it tells you lap times, splits, and total time. It can hold up to 50 laps, which is more than enough for me.
I also love the fact that this watch has 3 alarms that you can program daily, weekends, or for certain days. The alarm is definitely loud enough for me to hear, and I'm not a very sensitive sleeper.
The only thing that bothers me is the interval timer. You can only set 2 intervals, but the beep between them is pretty weak. So if I set 1 min on, 30 sec off for weight reps, I can't really tell when my half min rest is coming up if I'm in a noisy gym. However, the beep is loud when the timer goes back to the 1st interval, so I just ended up setting up the timer for one interval of 30 seconds.
Also, the watch gets dirty really fast, so imagine the watch in the picture with a more dull-ish color. It came as a ridiculously bright blue though, so I didn't mind at all.
All in all, great watch!
