5 out of 5 stars Wide range of delicious recipes   August 14, 2008
I bought all of Rachel's books so far and they're all excellent - easy to follow recipes for many occasions. These are cookery books for people with a normal busy life (meaning you don't have the time to spend all day shopping and cooking) who still want good food. There always are some recipes that you can knock up even when you can't really be bothered to cook at all, like "Gremolata Sauce for Pasta", which doesn't even require any actual cooking (apart from the pasta you've only got to chop and mix). The perfect kind of convenience food - fresh, quick and without the nasty stuff you so often find in ready made meals. Of course, the book also contains lots of recipes for those moments when you really do feel like cooking, there's even a chapter on children's parties. A book that should be on every kitchen shelf!

5 out of 5 stars The best out of the R Allen books   June 17, 2008

This is my favourite Rachel Allen book, well used as the pages are stuck together from refering to the recipes. It's very easy to use and the ingredients are easily obtainable. It doesn't try to be fancy, more homely than anything else. Try the cardamon chicken, coconut noodles, they are very more-ish.

I have three of Rachel's books all of which are brilliant.
I have tried so many of her recipes and haven't been disappointed yet, every one has been a success and you can't say that about many cookbooks.
I recommend them all.

5 out of 5 stars Good no nonsense range of recipes   January 8, 2006

Excellent range of recipes most of which are not difficult or time consuming to do. Most can be done quite quickly and/or do not need constant supervision or fiddly preparation. Down to earth writing with tips for variations and ways to dress up the recipes for entertaining. Will definately be buying her next book which is already on my wishlist!

5 out of 5 stars A book you will use!   December 31, 2005

I was bought this book for Christmas last year and have used it again and again. These are recipes that are not just used when you entertain. Some are really quick and easy, just what you need when you get in from work. I would recommend this book with no hesitation. In fact, this year I was bought Rachel's new book for Christmas! I'll let you know how I get on with that one!
