4 out of 5 stars Best of British   January 29, 2007
This was some film! The story line may have been flimsy to those who do not appreciate depth, but some outstanding stars appeared alongside Peter Sellers in what encapsulated pure British eccentricity.

For me, the Oxford & Cambridge boat race with Peter Sellers, John Le Mesurier and goodness knows who else crammed into the safety boat, showed that some things are too special in our history ever to be crushed by political correctness; no matter how zany they are. The upbeat British spirit is everywhere in this film and that makes it priceless.

5 out of 5 stars Priceless   June 10, 2003

I first saw this film about 1979, I was only six so did not really appreciate the comedy value, I then saw it again in 1985, and my god was it funny, the richest man in the world spending money in the most un-imaginable ways. The best scene is when a lot of cash is emptied into a swimming pool of poo and other nasty stuff, and he invites people to jump in and get it, along to a catchy tune. I have not been able to get a copy since, but if anyone ever has the chance, then buy it.
