Lee Evans-Wired and wonderful. June 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have to say that I feel this DVD to represent one of Lee Evans best performances. He is as sweaty and gurning as ever, his comedy and jokes are spot on, the crowd seem to love him and I laughed nearly the whole way through. I've got a few other DVD's of him live and although good, this one stands out as a top performance. You even get the hilarious, and now legendary, rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody at the end. A brilliant introduction to Lee Evans if you've not seen him before, and an excellent show if you have. Highly recommended.

filmed in 2002 in front of a packed wembley arena, lee evans again gives his all and sweats his soul out as he delivers rapid fire stories, silly little jokes and a song backed up with the london choir, all good in general, but maybe too much of a good thing as this show clocks in at a few minutes shy of two hours so there is alot to take in. Lee evans is a quirky comedian, his style is energetic but also slapstick in approach,he gives life to lots of things such as pennies and pens and things like that and uses lots of zany voices and so forth,he has a touch of billy connolly about him in his descriptive manner but maybe not as serious,if it wasnt for his overuse of the 'f' word evans would more or less be a childs comedian but he is funny, not all of the time here granted but he is a clever comedian who offers more than your standard comedian who holds on to a tankard of beer while turning the air blue, not that there is much wrong with that, its just that evans is different, this is a good show but falls short of being great, and evans has certainly done great before this and after.
Good Evans March 17, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Can't say i am a massive Lee Evans fan but i did find the majority of this enjoyable and i'm sure genuine fans of his will love it. If anything,he is too energetic on stage for my liking and i couldn't watch this performance in one go,i would be left exhausted He certainly works hard for his money and the sweat just drips off him. Evans does not necessarily tell jokes as such, more general observations told with a comic value that only the man himself can deliver. Plenty of funny voices, pulled faces, running around and waving of arms during 2 hours of new material that is bound to keep Lee Evan's legions of fans amused. Didn't get the song at the end and just ended up fast forwarding this bit. Also found here is a 'behind the scenes' programme and Lee's award winning version of 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

I am a huge stand up comedy fan, and borrowed this dvd from my brother. I was very impressed By Lee Evans, by his amazing energy on stage, his very funny jokes, and after watching it, the feeling that he loves every single one of his fans. This dvd has stand up comedy, a great song, written and sung by Lee Evans, part accompanied by the London Choir, and his famous version of Bohemian Raposody. Whatever You pay for this dvd, consider it value for money
