1 out of 5 stars Dodgy sellers   June 29, 2008

These DV tapes are indeed excellent but BE CAREFUL before hitting 'Place Your Order' as some sellars are adding 17.5% VAT and the a massive 7.69 postage making a seemingly 12 bargain end up being 22!!

5 out of 5 stars The best price in town!   October 17, 2007
This is by far the cheapest on the net or even than what you get in stores. The other companies advertise this for cheaper but they add 9 deliver charges for every item. If you take two or more packs of 10 with super saver delivery it's by far the cheapest and SONY is the BEST out there!

5 out of 5 stars Great value, works even in my HDV cam   October 8, 2007

I have used numerous brands of miniDV tapes over the years and have been sticking to these Sony ones for at least the last 2 years, firstly because these are great value, secondly I have not had any problems so far.

I actually upgraded from an ordinary Panasonic DV cam to the all new Canon HV20 Hi Def cam this year and still use these tapes in the new cam to record Hi-def footage! Yes, you can buy specialist HDV tapes, but they cost more. These normal Mini-DV tapes work just fine recording HDV footage. Obviously I can also record normal DV footage onto these tapes as well.

I am no expert in HD recording, I have no idea what advantage of using proper HDV tape is, surely there must be some reason. But for my casual use, I am happy to just still with these ordinary mini DV tapes. I may try the proper HDV tapes when I have an important event though.

All in all, I have no reason to switch to a different tape yet.

4 out of 5 stars Great Product buut at 11.95 Postage?   August 30, 2007
This product is flawless. i had previously used it and was just about to purchase this from Amazon (sold by Quigleys) until I saw the postage cost... 11.95 to post some small DV tapes!! This is more than the cost of the product. Customers beware.

5 out of 5 stars Great Price....Great Tapes   July 27, 2007

I have recently bought a Sony Camcorder to replace my broken Canon.
I had a couple of brand new JVC tapes that I had never used so I used these with my new Sony.
I noticed a lot of glitches in my recordings...you know, the picture momentarily glitching, pixilation etc.
So I thought I would try Sony tapes to see if they would make any improvement.
I can't believe the difference....the picture is perfect with no glitches at all!

I can't understand why the Sony doesn't like JVC tapes as they always worked flawlessly in the Canon.

Could Sony camcorders be configured to favour Sony tapes!

So if you're getting poor recordings with your Sony camcorder using other brands of tape try using Sony's own tapes...it worked for me.
