4 out of 5 stars Very useful aid - but could be improved   June 8, 2008
I am lucky not to suffer from the colour blindness problem but hope that the publishers bear this on mind on the next print - red/green colour blindness is well known and I see why it would be a problem. Even without being colour blind, the red of the Munros and the orange of the Corbetts are more confusing than the need to be.

I use this map both as a record and a planning aid, and I do find it extremely useful. It could be better, however. My primary suggestion arises from the fact that I do not have a convenient wall on which to pin up this map, and in any case like to take it with me on trips. I often find it inconvenient to enter the date for Munros because they are on the bottom half of the map sheet, below the fold, while the map locations are in the top half. While Scotland's geography does not help, (there being more land mass and islands in the top half than the narrower bottom) I suggest that the publisher moves the less important information from the top to the bottom half so that all of the lists of Munros may be shown nearer where they are on the map. (This would be facilitated by moving all of the Corbett lists "south" too, but that would be a selfish request, and one that I would regret if I ever get to the stage of having completed the Munros and starting on the Corbetts! Oh why did I not achieve more when I was living in Aberdeen?)

Otherwise, not much to say - an excellent means of strategic planning and record keeping.

2 out of 5 stars Colour Blind - Forget it!!   July 17, 2007

Just received this map to use for the Munro's.
The map is divided up into different areas with each Munro, Corbett, Graham and Donald illustrated. Each mountain is marked with an identical Triangle colour coded as to its type. I'm not badly colour blind but it sure confused me trying to find the Munros and is a completely useless piece of paper as far as I'm concerened. If the publishers had thought about it correctly they would also have used different symbols for each type of mountain.
Sure its ok for those with normal colour vision but dont be blinkered when it comes to conditions that affect millions!
Poor show from the publisher.

5 out of 5 stars Ideal for overall picture of the location of all the Munros   February 27, 2002

Wall Chart format.
Ideal for an overall picture of the location of all the Munros, Corbetts Grahams and Donalds.
Brilliant aid to planning where to visit with view to "bagging" a few.
