Brilliant for most ages April 24, 2008 We have used this book as a move on to "You Choose".
Just started to use it with our 22 month old to increase his vocab understanding but I can see it being of interest for many years to come especially for counting and concentration.
a fantastic book sure to please for years May 17, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Another great Usborne book that combines 4 titles giving exceptional value for money. It contains 65 double page pictures in the usual wonderful Usborne style. Scenes range from In the Ocean (from the 1001 Animals book), to Milking Time (On the Farm book), Street Cafe (In the Town book) and A Viking Voyage 1200 years ago (Long Ago book).
Each scene has a border of different things to find in the picture along with the number of each. For my 3 year old this is great for basic counting and colour spotting (7 black sheep for example), but as he gets older it will develop into a natural history book (finding oystercatchers or squat lobsters By the Sea) and history book (describing the scene in a Pharoah's Court 3500 yrs ago).
Another reviewer has recommended for 3-5 year olds but I think this wonderful book will have years more use, in fact I learn something pretty much every time I look at it!

All praise to Usbourne for combining it's popular '1001 Things to Spot' books into one complete edition. The 1001 books are sure winners with 3's to 5's and guaranteed parent-pleasers with their 'find me if you can' route to basic numeracy and memory skills. Colourful, detailed tableau's of everything from a hen house to ancient Egypt, entice young readers to hunt down all manner of familiar and unusual quarry 'hidden' in the pages. This complete package offers value for money from a certain crowd pleaser.
