Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Tom Petty - Damn the Record Companies - LIVE!   June 30, 2008
Tom Petty has always been critical about the seemingly endless greed excercised by the companies musicians are forced to work with, if they want a record contract. Never has he been more damning in his criticism than on the CD "The Last DJ". On this great DVD, you get the whole of "The Last DJ" performed in sequence, live to an exuberant audience, followed by a selection of older tracks, and the classics "Shake, Rattle & Roll" and "Around & Around". The musicianship is first class, as one has come to expect from this superb band, but the feeling of exuberance you experience when watching this DVD is difficult to surpass, without actually being there.
I thoroughly recommend this DVD to anyone who enjoys intelligent rock. The performance of "Mary Jane's Last Dance" alone makes this DVD a bargain!
