Product Description The FinePix S6500 fd from Fuji is a sleek camera brimming with the latest technological functions. It deserves its place in an impressive line-up of current SLR cameras, which are greatly admired by photography connoisseurs. The S6500 fd has a 6 million-pixel Super CCD HR sensor, an electronic viewfinder and a 10.7x zoom lens. It combines technology and performance by offering a wide range of features for all your digital photography needs: a Real Image II processor, a fast response time (with a release time of under 35 milliseconds) and other tools to correct problems in poor lighting conditions. Fujifilm has developed its face detection technology so that the camera automatically recognises up to 10 faces in the frame, focuses on the right subjects and ensures correct exposure. The S6500 fd also boasts a sensitivity setting of ISO 3200, meaning that you can continue taking photos even in poor lighting conditions. Another innovation is the intelligent flash that can be adjusted to give different power outputs, while the exposure settings can also be adjusted to give natural lighting to your photos. The ?Natural and Flash Light? mode gives you the choice between two shots: one with the flash and one without. With a level of image quality and exceptional functions bordering those of digital SLR cameras, the S6500 fd is sure to satisfy photographers of all levels.

Simple Camera with a lot of extras April 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
What a bargain. This camera is excellent value for the money. I am only an amateur photographer but a keen walker and in fine weather I do not find it cumbersome to walk with this round my neck...minus the leather case (why did I bother?). I first took it to Northumberland whilst walking along Hadrian's Wall, then to Thassos and then to Pembrokeshire. It is so manageable and weighs next to nothing even with the batteries. I do not understand all the features which is a plus for me as it keeps me learning, but it has taken some wonderful shots. I can't understand anyone paying twice the price for something similar. The Fuji website it also extremely helpful with online tutorials and explanations of how to improve your shots. For an old fart like me it is excellent.
brilliant camera for the price March 29, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
For the price, this is a brilliant camera - 1/3 the price of most SLRs, but with most of the functions, plus a x10 zoom lems. It's fast, rarley gets the autofocus wrong (even on full zoom) and is ready to take another picture very quickly. The only real moan I have with it is that in "auto" mode if the lighting is less than very bright it tends to select an excessively high ISO level to keep exposures short, which can result in a grainy image due to digital noise. (This is easily solved however by changing mode to "P" which allows you to fix the ISO level (I've set it to ISO 100), but still automatically works out aperture and shutter settings). It also feels nice and solid, I like the manual zoom as it's much more adjustable and faster than a motorised zoom.

Best value camera March 11, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this camera from Tesco Direct for(144.95)no one else is currently supplying it cheaper(unless you know otherwise). By the time I'd decided to buy it Amazon were not listing it and the online prices(from other amazon site traders) were higher. Sorry guys.
What a bargain. I already have a Finepix F700 - a brilliant compact camera but lusted after more zoom. I did my research via www.dcreviews.com and other user review sites including the many here on Amazon and starting looking to see who could supply it cheapest.
I'm waiting now for better weather having tested it out in and around home all seems to function OK. It helps that I'm used to Fuji cameras and quickly got up to speed on the various programmes, functions etc;
For what it's worth if any reading this is thinking about buiyng the S6500 don't wait any longer - get one quick before they're all gone. I've also bought a UV filter and a camera bag that you must consider buying for this camera. Amazon supply the bag at half the high street price. Mine arrived this morning and it very good quality. It's a genuine Fuji leather camera bag that cost just 14.71 including 1st class post. I only ordered it on Saturday afternoon. The camera fits it like a glove.
