5 out of 5 stars The way through the Lakes   August 13, 2003

Cumbria Way is a walk from Ulverston to Carlisle right through the middle of the Lake District. The route is a distance of 70 miles (112km) long, the route mainly stays to the valleys and along the shores of a couple of the lakes. There is the possiblity of taking in some of the mountains on the way if you so desire.
Also included on the map is vital information, for instance telephone numbers for youth hostels and tourist information centres on the way. Good advice is given in Safety on the Fells section and a weatherline phone number so you can find out if it is going to rain or not....
Towns and villages that you pass through or near, there are symbols on the map to let you know what amenities are there like shops and accommodation. There is also street maps for Ulverston, Keswick and Carlisle.
So if you are interested in doing this walk, then invest in this map, it is well worth it.
